Services

MAINTENANCE

Your piano needs regular love and attention to stay in top playing condition. I can service your instrument on a schedule, or as-needed.

TUNING

Pianos should be tuned every six months—more often of they’re heavily used, in the service of a discriminating musician, or before each concert or performance.

REPAIR

The average piano has about 12,000 parts. Even the most well-made piano will need repairs as those parts age or move with seasonal changes in temperature and humidity.

APPRAISAL

Thinking of buying or selling a piano? The piano market is notoriously difficult to navigate. You need someone with knowledge on your side.

CONCERT PREP

Concert preparation can involve all of the services listed here. While tuning is the most obvious, regulation and voicing may be in order as well. It’s important that a concert instrument be in tip-top shape.

REGULATION

Piano regulation means making sure each key operates and sounds uniformly. Most pianos may be properly regulated when new, but time and wear affect each key differently.

VOICING

Voicing a piano refers to adjusting the quality of the tone. Is it bright or mellow? Is it bold or subdued? A skilled technician can bring out the best personality of each piano.
